About
Named after an electrician
Papi Labs is a British engineering company working in applied AI. It builds its own products and takes on other people’s hardest builds.
Who runs it
Papi Labs is run by Saman Taherimoud, a serial founder who has worked in software for seven years and with large language models for four.
He runs AI workshops for teams through GuideKit.
The size of the company
Papi Labs is one engineer and a large number of AI agents. The architecture and the review are always human.
Most software companies will work this way within a few years. This one already does.
A person makes the design decisions and reads the code before it ships. AI agents do much of the writing.
Where the name comes from
Papi was my grandfather. He was a Lur from Borojerd and an electrician. He cycled everywhere and looked in on everyone.
An electrician does not make electricity. He makes it safe and useful inside other people’s buildings, and he works to a code. That is how we think about AI: the work is in the wiring.
The logo is an iwan, the pointed arch of Persian architecture. An iwan is a doorway: a vaulted space, open on one side, between outside and inside.
The word paradise comes from the Old Iranian pairidaeza, a walled garden. In Persian it is pardis.
